Lower frequency radio waves propagate better than higher frequency and so achieve better range， especially inside buildings.

The higher performance requirements of the protocols in the 2.4 GHz band have a major influence on the design and power consumption of the wireless transceivers. However， continual evolution of the silicon design by companies such as Texas Instruments is constantly updating the technology， reducing cost and power with higher levels of integration of digital and analog components.
